Title Development and validation of an agent-based simulation model of juvenile delinquency.
Abstract Within criminology a distinction is made between two types of criminals: life course persistent offenders and adolescence limited offenders. Criminal behaviour among the latter group emerges through social interaction with peers, parents and school. I will present a model that takes these factors into account in order to simulate the emergence of criminal behaviour among adolescence limited offenders over a couple of years. The model has been calibrated based a data from a large study performed among high school scholars.
