Abstract See 1 minute movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M91Ijw34Hl4 In this interesting and spicy WAI talk, I will present the clever design + results of a study with 110 subjects from which mood, speech and cognitive abilities were measured to answer the following questions: Does affect influence creativity? If yes, does it improve or decrease it compared to a neutral condition? Does affect influence memory? If yes, does it improve or decrease it compared to a neutral condition? Does affect influence your thoughts and actions? If yes, does it 'broaden' or 'narrow' it compared to a neutral condition? Can a machine (learn to) detect the mood in the natural speech of a human (better than a human can)? NOTE: Many of you were involved as a subject in my experiment (in the Intertainlab, in April/May this year). Now I can tell you WHY you had to watch a specific movie + do some tests and give the results...
