Title Modelling and Analysis for Personal Coaching Applications
Abstract With this presentation I would like to introduce myself to the Artificial Intelligence group. The focal points of this talk will cover my background, research interests and my first contribution to the Agent Systems Research Group: the design and implementation of a Reasoning System architecture as part of the ICT4Depression EU FP7 project. Major depression is currently the fourth disorder worldwide in terms of disease burden, and is expected to be the disorder with the highest disease burden in high-income countries by 2030. Estimated costs of depression are annually 177 and 147 million euro per 1 million inhabitants for major and minor depression respectively. Current treatment methods for depressive disorders can reduce the burden of this disease with about one third. The ICT4Depression consortium is developing an ICT-based system for use in primary care that will further improve patient outcomes and increase access to depression treatment. The Reasoning System is responsible for maintaining a feedback loop between patients and the architecture by abstracting patients state and involvement with the system, reasoning - using a rule based approach - and performing predictions - by simulating patients state evolution and therapies effect - about abstracted information and reporting feedback accordingly.
