Abstract |
Recently, the Intertain Lab acquired two low-cost consumer EEG devices from Myndplay. Devices such as these, with a single or a small number of dry EEG electrodes, are easy to use and thus seem a viable option as a sensor in ambient technologies. In the first half of the presentation, I will give a brief overview of the technology, explain its measurements and how it could be used in the STRESS project. In the second half, I'll present an experiment conducted by a student in which the brainband was used to measure brain activity while participants viewed various movie clips. As the processing of the brain data is still work in process, only preliminary findings will be presented.
