Title Recollections of developing Accurator
Abstract The SEALINCMedia COMMIT/ project is coming to an end, so it is time to look back. During this talk I will discuss my experiences of developing Accurator, a crowdsourcing framework for enriching cultural heritage collections. It won’t be the your regular review presentation advertising all things that went well, but a personal recollection of the bumpy road of creating a system that relies on the intrinsic motivation of users. How do you engage users and what are the right conditions for a successful system? What do you get yourself into developing such a system? How do you turn development effort into research results? I will discuss these questions, sometime providing answers, sometimes examples of how not to do it.
