Abstract | In this talk, I'll briefly overview the origin of what we today know as stream processing and present how it evolved to become one of the driving forces behind the so-called the fourth industrial revolution. Furthermore, the talk will shortly go over the current challenges and research opportunities in the field of stream processing, as well as how different research communities can potentially contribute to this field, or integrate it into their existing ecosystem. |
