Description

Title Archimedial.
Abstract In cooperation between historians of architecture and urban form and computer scientists we will develop new tools for automatic building recognition of architectures and their parts as available in inherently diverse digital media (plans, photos, models, etc.) and on the web, as well as the continued development of tools that have been partly tried in fields other than digital images and that facilitate the development and linking of metadata and image content and that prepares this data for comparative investigation of contemporary and historic built form. The combination of computer scientists and historians of architecture and urban form will allow us to close gaps in existing data fields and find overlaps. It will also allow us to gain better understanding of understudied areas
