Title : The Past, the Present, and the Future of Stream Processing

Presenter Hamid Bazoobandi
Abstract In this talk, I'll briefly overview the origin of what we today know as stream processing and present how it evolved to become one of the driving forces behind the so-called the fourth industrial revolution. Furthermore, the talk will shortly go over the current challenges and research opportunities in the field of stream processing, as well as how different research communities can potentially contribute to this field, or integrate it into their existing ecosystem.

Title : Convolutional neural networks for knowledge graphs.

Presenter Peter Bloem
Abstract Graph convolutional networks are a new model for the analysis of graphs, inspired by the convolutional networks currently being used to solve everything from image analysis to Go. Together with the AMLab at the UvA, we have been developing an extension of existing graph convolutional neural networks to knowledge graphs. I'll be explaining the principle, and showing some early results.
