Title : Semantic enrichment in SlideWiki – request for feedback.

Presenter Klaas Andries de Graaf
Abstract We are working on semantic enrichment of OpenCourseWare in SlideWiki, e.g., tagging of presentation decks and slides, NLP on slide content, and semantic annotation of slide content. SlideWiki slides can be about any number of topics, contain many types of media (text, diagrams, videos, formulas, code, etc..) and are used by many types of user. We are investigating what mechanisms and domain models (ontologies) are useful for semantic enrichment. Ongoing work on semi-automatic and crowd-sourced semantic enrichment will be presented, and want to discuss use-cases and suitable user interaction. I will present above R&D and ask for your feedback.

Title : An Empathic Agent that Alleviates Stress by Providing Support via Social Media

Presenter Lenin Medeiros
Abstract I am going to talk about what I have done so far in my PhD as well as the current status of my work. During my PhD research, I am developing an ‘artificial friend’, i.e., an intelligent agent that provides support via text messages in social media in order to alleviate the stress that users experience as a result of everyday problems. Currently, I am making an effort to put the bot to use text mining and machine learning via IBM Watson. The application is able to interact with users via the social network Telegram.
